On Wednesday April 3rd from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. the Policy Lab will be hosting a workshop with New York Times journalist Michael Tomasky on how to write op-eds. Tomasky will discuss the challenges of writing op-eds that effectively communicate ideas about politics and policy to the public.
The workshop is geared towards students, faculty, and others who want to learn how to engage with the public about their research findings and ideas. Tomasky will provide insights from his experience as a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times, a columnist for The Daily Beast, and the editor of Democracy: A Journal of Ideas.

Michael Tomasky is a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times. He is also a columnist for the Daily Beast, the editor for Democracy: A Journal of Ideas, and a regular contributor to The New York Review of Books. His most recent book, “If We Can Keep It: How the Republic Collapsed, and How it Might Be Saved,” was published in February of 2019.
